Catherine Miles won the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 7 1/4 inches Friday at the 106th Skagit County Track and Field Championships in Mount Vernon. It was her second title. On Wednesday she won the high jump (5-0).
On the boys' side, Peter Luciano won the 300 hurdles (43.49).
The Anacortes girls finished third, well behind meet champ Burlington-Edison.
Miles was also second in the 300 hurdles at 47.38 seconds. Elizabeth Novy was third in the 100 (14.3) and Amber Paszkowski was third in the discus (89-3).
The Anacortes boys finished third behind Burlington-Edison and Sedro-Woolley.
Westin MacKenzie was second in the 3200 (10:14.0).
The Seahawks had three winners in first-day action Wednesday
Craig Jones won the pole vault with a school-record vault of 13-9 and Nick Majeske, the defending Class 2A state champion, won the discus with a throw of 156-2 in addition to Miles' win in the high jump.
