The Anacortes High School baseball team had two players named to the 2012 All-State team by the Washington State Baseball Coaches Association.
Billy King, junior first baseman, was named to the 2A first team.
He hit just over .500.
Senior pitcher Cody Culp earned second-team 2A honors.
Culp hit .388 and was 5-2 with a 3.74 ERA as a pitcher.
King said the team struggled in district play this season and didn’t reach its full potential, but he said he was happy about being named to the state team.
“It’s pretty cool,” he said. “I’m honored. It’s a pretty relieving feeling, knowing I’ve earned it.”
