Anacortes lost to Pullman 69-50 this afternoon in consolation play at the Class 2A State Tournament at the Yakima Valley SunDome. The defeat ends the Seahawks’ season.

The Seahawks finish the year with a top-eight finish at state. They lost to Kingston 67-62 Thursday in the quarterfinals.

Anacortes (18-9) was led by senior Matt Welliver, who had 21 points. Sam D’Amelio was the next-highest scorer with six points.

The Seahawks trailed just 32-27 at the half, but Pullman pulled away in the second half. Anacortes shot 25 percent from the field, while Pullman shot 47 percent.
