The paddle race through the wild waters of the pass starts at Bowman Bay. Cost to enter is $59, including on race day.
Racers will propel their kayaks, surfskis, stand-up paddle boards, outriggers, pedal boats and any other human-powered craft through the 6-mile course around Deception Island, east into the pass, and before the current gets too strong, make their way around Strawberry Island and then return to Bowman Bay for the finish.
The Seahawks trailed by just a point at the half, but visiting Bellingham pulled away in the second half for the 56-44 win Thursday night.
