Pavao “Pavo” Franulovich, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 105, on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the San Juan Rehab and Care Center in Anacortes, Washington.
He was born on January 24, 1907 in Vela Luka, Croatia, the son of Toni and Joza (Padovan) Franulovich. Pavo came to the United States from Caracas, Venezuela with his family.
He was a commercial fisherman and fished the Puget Sound and Alaskan waters for over 35 years.
Pavo was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Katherine Franulovich of 55 years, his second wife, Anna Franulovich of 12 years; his son, Paul Franulovich; and son-in-law, Stanley Stambuk.
He is survived by his daughter, Miloyka Stambuk, sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Lorna Franulovich of Bayview, WA and Rudy and Shelly Franulovich of Ketchikan, AK; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Anacortes, WA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church followed by interment at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes. Following interment, a reception will be held back at the Fr. Auer Center.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church Maintenance Fund or to the Faith on Fire Fund.
