Marye Elizabeth Carr 1919 ~ 2012

Marye Elizabeth Carr, age 92, died at Island Hospital, Anacortes on March 18, 2012, following a sudden illness.

She was an Anacortes native, born on December 12, 1919 and spent her entire life living inside the city limits. She was married to Ray Davis for a time and then married Orville Carr, a marriage that lasted more than 40 years. Following Orville’s death, she was married to Greg Carr for 21 years.

Marye worked in housekeeping and food service at Secret Harbor for more than ten years. She enjoyed jewelry and watching the world passing by her window. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #1204 of Anacortes.

Marye is survived by three children and their spouses: Ted and Donna Carr of Anacortes, Alan and Bobbi Davis of Stanwood, WA and Arizona, and Diane and Bill Sweeten of Spartanburg, South Carolina and by nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside committal services were on Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 am at Fernhill Cemetery, Anacortes. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 am Saturday at the Anacortes Christian Reformed Church, 10th and O Ave.
