Leonard ‘Tom’ Eugene Storme

Leonard “Tom” Eugene Storme, 88, of Anacortes died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at San Juan Rehab and Care Center in Anacortes.

He was born on July 1, 1923 in Snohomish, Washington, the son of Henry and Lillian (Friese) Storme.

In February of 1943 Tom enlisted in the United States Army and served with the Antiaircraft Artillery Unit in Central Europe, France and Germany, until his honorable discharge in November 1945.

Tom married Lenora Christenson on August 7, 1943 in Anacortes, Washington and they had two children, Gary and Nancy Storme.

Tom was employed as a body and fender repairman for Trulson Motor Company for 13 years and the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station for 23 years, before his retirement in 1984.

Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, duck hunting, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lenora; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Von Storme of Anacortes; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Givin Chase of Lakewood, WA; grandchildren, Darcy Storme of Anacortes, Lisa (Steve) Robinson of Port Ludlow, WA, Mabis Chase of Brooklyn, NY, and Anna Chase of Portland, OR; and great-granddaughter, Jillian Robinson of Port Ludlow.
