George Stephen Simpson 1951 ~ 2012

George Stephen Simpson passed away on June 25, 2012 due to complications of diabetes on Lopez Island, WA.

He was born in Livingston, MT on April 29, 1951. He was the first-born son of Joseph S. and Ann L. Simpson.

The family moved to the Seattle area in 1960 due to Mr. Simpson’s work with the Northern Pacific Railroad, living in West Seattle. Subsequent work-related moves took the family back to MT, as well as Lewiston, ID and Spokane, WA. The family then moved back to Seattle where George graduated from West Seattle High School in 1969. He then attended W.S.U. in Pullman, WA, graduating with a B.A. in English.

His most recent workplace was the Federal Government in the Fisheries Department, under the Commerce Department and N.O.A.A. in North Seattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Barbara M. Estenson.

He is survived by his brother, Philip A. Simpson.
