Cole awarded $3,000 EWU scholarship
Mason Cole of Anacortes has been awarded a Scholastic Honors Scholarship for $3,000 for the 2012-2013 academic year at Eastern Washington University. This award is given to incoming freshman with a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher, or an SAT score of at least 1100.
Mason will graduate from Anacortes High School this spring. He plays varsity soccer and has been the School Board representative, class president, choir president, a student director and the lead role in school musical productions.
He intends to pursue a degree in music as a freshman at EWU this fall, and plans to get involved in the choir program and intramural soccer.
Mason is the son of Jeremy and Kimberly Pinson of Anacortes.
Rice earns bachelor’s degree
Stephanie Rice of Anacortes earned a Bachelor’s of Science in business human resources from WGU Washington. The school was established by the Legislature one year ago as the only accredited, nonprofit, competency-based online university for working adults in the state.
