Director wanted: Dance center thinking two steps ahead Posted by Jacob Buckenmeyer | Apr 25, 2012 | 440 views

Fidalgo Danceworks has outgrown its modest home at Third Street and Q Avenue. The nonprofit dance studio in Anacortes is looking to expand its staff, and its business.

The first step is to hire a new executive director, said Annette Woolsey, president of the Danceworks board of directors.

The studio announced the job opening last week. Woolsey said a new executive director will oversee staff, fundraising and budgets. She’s also looking for someone who’s familiar with the world of dance.

Fidalgo Danceworks began as The Dance Center in 2001 and has grown in the last 11 years, becoming a nonprofit in 2008. With 50 weekly classes, the board of directors thinks it’s past time that the studio expand to meet growing demand.
